Sweet Dixie turned 7 on December 24th, and her mom reached out to me to document this special milestone. There’s no better way to celebrate such a loving, talented pup than with a birthday photography session that captures her personality and charm.
We chose Frank Liske Park, one of my favorite spots near Charlotte, for the session. It’s the perfect location with its beautiful natural scenery, golden light, and wide-open spaces for dogs to explore. Dixie absolutely loved every moment, shining in her natural element.
From the very beginning, Dixie showed off her playful personality and impressive skills. She’s a natural poser and has a repertoire of tricks, including stacking treats on her head, sitting, laying down, shaking, and even doing “peekaboo.” We captured her special tricks, along with candid shots and posed moments that showcase her beauty and spirit.
To make the session even more unique, I focused on close-ups of her nose, face, paws, and ears—details that her mom will treasure forever. These little features are such an important part of what makes Dixie who she is, and I love including them in every pet photography session.
